Every new piece of software has a learning curve. We’ve made a lot of improvements, both in the UI and in the core engine to make it easy for beginners to start printing with a few clicks. The Configuration Assistant guides you through a simple setup process to choose your printers and materials and get started.
Download Prusa Slicer is already configured for Prusa 3D printers, and many third-party models. You can also add your own profile, or manually configure the settings for your printer. Different materials require different temperatures, print speed, and cooling settings. PrusaSlicer offers presets for most popular filaments.
PrusaSlicer vs Cura: Which One Is Better
If you want more control over your prints, the Expert view opens up the full set of available settings for advanced users. For example, you can adjust layer heights to optimize print quality and details, or change infill patterns to balance strength and material savings.
We’ve added a few more tools for model manipulation, such as the move/rotate/scale gizmos in the 3D view. You can now use them to add modifier meshes, cut the model in half, or change specific settings. You can also select multiple objects at once and easily group them. We’ve also added a feature to spread the model across several beds if it wouldn’t fit on one bed.
If you want to test the latest stable release of PrusaSlicer, you can download it from our GitHub page. The installers are stand-alone DMG files and will install PrusaSlicer on your computer as well as a set of test models and printer drivers. You can also install the latest stable version of PrusaSlicer from Flathub if you use that distribution system.
